The
vacation house "L'Antico Casale Madonna del Giglio, represents
the ideal refuge in order to escape from the stressful rhythm of the ruotine,
between secular chestnut trees and olive groves, grown with love and patience,
between the volcanic ashes and stones, pointed out on the matchless beauty
of the Lake of Bolsena and its breathtaking sunsets.
The house is the fruit of an accurate job of makeover, leaving unchanged the original aspect and the basic architecture; in order to make it the antidote to the sophisticated atmospheres where we habitually live, materials like wood, stone and terracotta are being used.
The owners have decided to open the doors of their refuge to all those
who wish to spend their own vacations dipped in the peace and nature, between
the prismatic green of the olive trees and the degrading hill toward the
lake.
The
love for this small paradise was also shared by the friends who gave one
important push in order to try the makeover of the rural home.
With this spirit it is intentional to recreate an atmosphere where the persons
could be at ease, as they had inhabited the house all along.
In order to give this impressions of lived atmosphere, the objects that
furnish the house are the result of a search that lasted for years between
the markets of antique of the Central Italy.
Therefore
the furnitures, the heads of the beds, the doors and all the other objects
finally find their ideal positioning.
The guest feels himself surrounded in harmony, because he finds in a warm
ambient like his own house.
The charm that today wraps this country house, built in far times and restructured
six years ago, is the expression of a strong duality that opposes the respect
for the tradition to the need of changing the written and predictable rules.
Restored in respect of the rigid rules that they tie all the architectonic
jobs carried out in this area, the house remains absolutely faithful to
its history and to the original style that characterizes the territory,
however succeeds to evoke the fascination of a place with no given space
and time.
The tree-lined avenue that connects the gate to the house is embellished by flower-beds in dry stone where plants of iris magically rise, from the end of april they transform the garden in an outbreak of colors and smells.
The small porch at the outside of the country house, furnished with two benches in wood, a table in cast iron and marble and a collection of old locks, with the old sink that collects rain waters, constituting a reservoir during the lean periods, preannounces the tone of the insides.
